The second Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. Invitational Golf Tournament is getting bigger and better with the inclusion of Baguio Country Club to cover all three golf courses in Baguio City.

The CGFI announced the second staging of the tournament is set on April 1 to 6 at Camp John Hay Golf Club, Pinewoods Golf & Country Club, and BCC.

2ND CGFI CUP SET — Top amateur golfers from the country are expected to see action along with parbusters from the highland region when the 2nd Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. Invitational Golf Tournament kicks off at Camp John Hay Golf Club, Pinewoods Golf & Country Club, and Baguio Country Club from April 1 to 6. — Harley Palangchao

Practice rounds will be on April 1 to 3 while tournament proper will be on April 4 to 6.

Each team will be composed of four players with one reserved player at the option of the team.

The tournament will adopt the PAL point system and the four to play, for to count format similar to last year’s inaugural tournament held at CJHGC and PGCC.

Details of the tournament fee and registration will soon be announced by the concerned committee.

The maiden tournament in May 2023 was a resounding success with more 60 teams having joined the charity event that raised funds for civic projects of CGFI.

Junior golfers from as far as Mindanao have powered local teams and clinched the championship trophies in the premier division.

The CGFI has allocated P2.4 million from the proceeds of the first tournament which was equally distributed to the eight schools division offices of the Department of Education-Cordillera.

Among the projects funded by CGFI were the construction of school buildings, purchase of two dental chairs, laptops, and satellite disks for Internet connectivity.
