After a three-year hiatus, the second staging of the Fil-Am Invitational Junior Championship has been set at Camp John Hay Golf Club and Baguio Country Club on June 18 to 21.

Hundreds of junior golfers north of Manila, including the Cordillera, are expected to see action against jungolfers from other parts of the country in the Fil and Am categories of the tournament that aims to discover potential players with world-class talent.

ALL SET — Junior golfers from the country will see action in the second staging of the Fil-Am Invitational Junior Championship set at Camp John Hay Golf Club and Baguio Country Club on June 18 to 21. The maiden tournament hosted by the Fil-Am Golf Foundation was held in 2019. — Harley Palangchao

The tournament will adopt the Molave point system during the 36-hole individual stroke play event on June 20 and 21.

All players will have their scheduled practice rounds on June 18 and 19 with a tree planting acti-vity in both courses.

Registration fee is P1,000 for dependents or grandchildren of BCC and CJH members, including members of the Baguio Junior Golf Association.

Registration for all other jungolfers is P2,000 with deadline of payment set on June 10.

The tournament will have the class A, B, C, D, and E in the Fil and Am categories.

Class A is for players 15 to 18 years old, B is for 13 to 14, C is for 11 to 12, D is for nine to 10, and E is for eight years old and below.

There will be designated tees for each classification.

The second series of the tournament was cancelled at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
