The Professional Regulation Commission has named three schools in the Cordillera as top performing institutions in the recently concluded nationwide licensure examination for secondary level teachers.

Benguet State University ranked sixth with 87.34 percent passing rate followed by University of Baguio in seventh place with 87.10 percent, and Saint Louis University in eighth place with 86.49 percent.

A total of 69 out of the 79 examinees from BSU main campus passed the board examination while UB had 54 passers out of the 62 takers.

SLU had 128 passers out of the 148 examinees.

West Visayas State University-La Paz is the top performing school with 91.55 percent or 65 passers out of 71 examinees followed by Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology with 88.98 percent, Cebu Normal University with 88.33 percent, and University of Mindanao-Davao City with 87.50 percent.

The PRC said the top performing schools are those with 50 or more examinees with a passing rate of 80 percent or higher.

In the elementary level, BSU main campus attained 87.88 percent passing rate, or 29 passers out of 34 examinees, BSU Bokod attained 100 percent with one successful passer, SLU got 97.62 percent, or 41 passers out of 42 takers, and UB with 100 percent with nine successful examinees.

The national passing rate for the September 2021 LET is 55.96 percent in the elementary level and 57.76 percent in the secondary level.

Overall, there were 4,883 passers out of the 8,726 examinees in the elementary level and 10,318 passers out of 17,863 examinees in the secondary level. – Ofelia C. Empian
