More than 35,000 individuals in the priority vaccination list in the Cordillera have received their anti-Covid-19 shots while cases in the region near the 30,000-mark as of April 22.

Based on the Covid-19 vaccination tally of the Department of Health-Cordillera, 35,339 individuals belonging to priorities A1 and A3 have been inoculated with the Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines.

Of those vaccinated, 25,026 received Sinovac while the 10,313 got AstraZeneca shots.

Also, 32,676 are from Priority A1 composed of health workers or frontline workers in essential health care services; 1,004 are senior citizens; and 1,659 are under Priority A3 or adults with controlled co-morbidity.

Baguio City has the highest number of vaccinated population with 13,261 getting their first dose and 3,890 receiving their second dose.

Abra has the second highest number of vaccinees with 5,568 getting their first dose and 426 getting their second dose.

Benguet has vaccinated 4,667 individuals for the first dose and 880 for the second dose while Kalinga reached out to 3,718 first-dose and 644 second-dose vaccinees.

In Apayao, 3,365 have received their first dose with 580 getting their second dose while Mountain Province has vaccinated 3,192 individuals in the priority list with 707 getting their second dose.

Ifugao has vaccinated 1,568 eligible population with 340 getting their second dose.  

Vaccination of eligible population continues as the number of cases in the region surges.

The DOH has encouraged the local vaccination teams to wrap up the inoculation of those in the Priority A1 so they could move to the next priority sectors.

As of April 22, the Cordillera logged 27,940 cases of which 4,405 are active with 23,112 recoveries, and 417 deaths.

Of the active cases, four are classified as severe; 27 critical; 1,349 asymptomatic; 2,604 with mild symptoms; 336 moderate, while the status of the 85 cases were being verified.

Baguio remains to have the highest cases at 9,910 followed by Benguet with 7,149.

Both local government units also have the highest number of individuals tested with Baguio having tested 107,967 individuals while Benguet tested 80,419. – Jane B. Cadalig
