The Department of Interior and Local Government has announced that five provinces, two cities and 55 municipalities in the Cordillera have passed the 2021 good financial housekeeping (GFH) audit. 

The provinces that passed the good financial housekeeping audit are Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Apayao, including the cities of Baguio and Tabuk.

In Abra, 15 out of 27 municipalities passed also passed the review namely: Bangued, Bucay, Danglas, La Paz, Luba, Manabo, Peñarrubia, Pilar, San Juan, San Quintin, Tayum, Tineg, Tubo, Villaviciosa, and Langiden.

Benguet’s 12 of 13 municipalities also passed namely: Atok, Bakun, Bokod, Buguias, Itogon, Kabayan, Kapangan, Kibungan, La Trinidad, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay. 

All of the seven municipalities each of Apayao and Kalinga, 11 in Ifugao and 10 in Mountain Province have passed the good financial housekeeping.

Apayao’s seven municipalities are Calanasan, Conner, Flora, Kabugao, Luna, Pudtol, and Sta. Marcela while the towns in Mountain Province are Barlig, Bauko, Besao, Bontoc, Natonin, Paracelis, Sabangan, Sadanga, Sagada, and Tadian.

Ifugao towns include Aguinaldo, Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan, Kiangan, Lagawe, Lamut, Mayoyao, and Tinoc while the towns in Kalinga are Balbalan, Lubuagan, Pasil, Pinukpuk, Rizal, Tanudan, and Tinglayan.

In the DILG’s report, 83 percent local government units have passed the GFH in the region, which is higher than the national average of 76 percent.

The criteria to pass the GFH are most recent available Commission on Audit opinion, unqualified or qualified for calendar years 2019 or 2020; compliance with the full disclosure policy, posting of financial documents in three conspicuous places and in the full disclosure policy portal for all quarters of 2020 and first quarter of 2021 posting period documents.
