The 6th edition of the Benguet Adivay Golf Cup has been set at Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on Nov. 10 to 11 with players from the 13 towns and open divisions vying for pride and glory.

Presented by the province of Benguet in cooperation with Pines Kumpadres Golf Club, Inc., the tournament which produced some of the best golfers in Northern Luzon, will adopt the modified Stableford for its scoring system.

RAIN OR SHINE — The cloud-kissed Pinewoods Golf & Country Club will once again host the 6th Benguet Adivay Golf Cup that will draw top golfers from the 13 towns of the province in the inter-municipality division and other seasoned golfers from other areas in the open division when action takes place on Nov. 10 and 11. — Contributed photo

The inter-municipality and open divisions will also adopt the five to play-four to count format but there will be individual medalists per category to be determined by the players’ handicap index.

Some of the municipalities with high number of golfers might again be allowed by the tournament executive committee to field two teams.

Priority players are those who trace their roots to the 13 towns, namely Atok, Bokod, Buguias, Bakun, Itogon, La Trinidad, Kapangan, Kibungan, Kabayan, Mankayan, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay.

The open division will be a battle for teams from Baguio City and the rest of the country.

The registration fee is P17,500 per team, or P3,500 per player in both divisions. The fee entitles each player to a raffle and dinner during the awarding rites.

For registration and payment, interested players or teams may contact 0916-541-9568 (Emi-ly) and 0960-903-4827 (Jein).

The annual golf tournament has its civic program where some of the proceeds of the previous events were given to terminally-ill patients, including assistance to the caddies.
