BONTOC, Mountain Province – Seven former rebels have recently surrendered to authorities and were presented at the Mountain Province Provincial Police Office Compound last week.
They turned over six firearms to the Provincial Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict.
Executive Assistant Winston Calde of the Governor’s Office administered the oath of allegiance of the surrenderees.
The former rebels will be profiled by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office after issuance of certification by the AFP-PNP Intelligence Committee that they are entitled to assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
The surrender was facilitated through the Retooled Community Support Program of the Provincial Task Force-Elcac led by the 54th IB of the Philippine Army headed by Lt/Col. Narciso B. Nabulneg Jr. and the MPPPO headed by Col. Clarence C. Casillo. – Juliet B. Saley
