LAGAWE, Ifugao – The provincial government and six municipalities of the province are among the local government units (LGUs) awarded by the Regional Nutrition Council (RNC) for their efforts in the implementation of nutrition programs.

Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Hingyon, Lamut, Mayoyao, and Tinoc and the provincial government were awarded for having below 10 percent prevalence rate of stunting among zero to 59 months old children in 2019.

Alfonso Lista, Asipulo, Hingyon, and Lamut also received another award for the continuous decrease in the prevalence of stunting among children in the municipalities from 2017 to 2019.

Gov. Jerry Dalipog lauded members of the local nutrition councils for their efforts in assuring that nutrition programs are sustained for the benefit of all.

“For these achievements, you all deserve this award. Let us continue with the great works for our children and our province,” he said.

The RNC, during the virtual regional nutrition awarding ceremony, recognized 56 LGUs for the continuous decrease in stunting prevalence in their areas.

Two schools divisions with excellent performance in the implementation of school-based feeding program from 2016 to 2019 and retiring nutrition stakeholders were also awarded for their accomplishments. – Marcelo B. Lihgawon
