NATONIN, Mountain Province – The Department of Trade and Industry recently launched the Negosyo Center here to cater to the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the municipality.
DTI-Mountain Province Director Mabel F. Banggawan said the Negosyo Center is envisioned to strengthen MSMEs to facilitate local job creation catalyzing growth and development of the local economy.
She urged the MSMEs to maximize the services of the Negosyo Center ultimately for economic growth and development.
The Negosyo Center in Poblacion is the ninth in Mountain Province and is expected to serve 450 MSMEs.
Negosyo Center Coordinator Kyleigh B. Andres said the facility is tasked to help MSMEs in business registration, business advisory, business information and advocacy, and mentoring and evaluation.
“Its contribution to the MSMEs in Natonin are for formalization of their businesses and compliance with the requirements of business registration thus avoiding penalties; development of capabilities in terms of entrepreneurial abilities, technical skills in managing the business, and value-added skills; and development and marketability of locally made products,” she said.
There will also be an increase in the number of micro enterprises, jobs generation, and more active economic activities in the area.
“The Negosyo Center will also serve as the office of DTI at the municipal level where all DTI concerns can be brought to the assigned business counselor,” Andres said. – Valerie Taguba
