For the outstanding employee of the year, Dr. Donnabel Tubera-Panes of the CHSO topped the search from 38 first and second level nominee-employees.
As head of the Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, Panes is the “watchman” for emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.
With limited resources and with collaboration from the different departments, she has prepared hospitals to a more challenging role in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
She also worked in programs for smoke-free and tobacco control, anti-dengue programs, and analysis of measles and typhoid cases.
She has also co-authored, reviewed, and co-examined research papers published and presented in local and international conventions.
In partnership with the academe, local government unit and data management system, a better health service and policy development were accomplished; and the city of Baguio was recognized as to best practices and partnerships.
She is also instrumental in setting up the Teachers’ Camp and St. Vincent gym as Covid-19 triage areas.
