BONTOC, Mountain Province – The second batch of beneficiaries under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program received their financial assistance on May 16 at the Provincial Capitol Quadrangle here.
A total of 270 tricycle drivers received P5,000 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Mountain Pro-vince.
The AICS is one of the programs of the DSWD that serves as a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crisis. Priority is given to poor, vulnerable, and marginalized sectors of society.
The assistance came from Sen. Imee Marcos in response to the request sent by Gov. Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr., said Anthony Pandosen, one of the governor’s executive assistants.
The Senator has allotted P5 million assistance for individuals in crisis situations in the province.
Lacwasan thanked the Senator for her continuous support to the pro-vince.
The first batch of AICS beneficiaries composed of 200 tricycle drivers and 144 students from the different municipalities of the pro-vince received their P5,000 assistance on May 1. – Clienteast Van B. Totanes
