Abrenian bamboo crafts, abel, food products, and basic necessities are now accessible for tourists and residents in Ilocos Sur with the launching of the first Abra OTOP hub outside the province recently.
The launching of the mart and hub was led by Adtempco Manager, Engr. Irene Bringas, Department of Trade and Industry-Abra Director Marvin Arcangel; Narvacan Mayor Pablito Sanidad, Sr.; Vice Mayor Carlos Valera; and Barangay Lungog Chair Kristofferson Monis.

Arcangel said the initiative aims to expand the reach of Abrenian local products into wider markets to provide local micro, small, and medium enterprises with enhanced revenue opportunities.

“Through our OTOP program, we aim to showcase Abra’s unique skills, talents, traditions, and culture by offering products that are poised to excel in competitive market environment,” Arcangel said.

Sanidad expressed his warm welcome for another local business that would bring not affordable grocery items for the community but also quality-made Abra local products.

“Welcome to Narvacan and thank you for adding to the emerging, economic and business-friendly Narvacan ecosystem,” he said in a social media account post.

The Adtempco and the DTI have been collaborating to launch more OTOP stores in the province and nearby areas. They were also able to open Abra’s first OTOP Hub in Pidigan and will be launching more stores in the other municipalities.
