The city government commended Baguio-born Iloisa Romaraog-Diga, who bridged farmers and shoppers through her brainchild, the online platform “Session groceries”.

The resolution of commendation was handed to Diga by city officials in a simple ceremony last July 18.

Diga is a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Young Men 2021 national award for agricultural entrepreneurship.

The award is for 18 to 40 year olds who inspired positive change in the community and worked for the welfare of the country.

Diga started the online platform for consumers to choose locally harvested commodities, while supporting local agribusiness.

In 2018, with a glut of harvest when farmers leave tons of vegetables to rot in their gardens while prices are sky-high in commercial areas, Diga helped sell the products directly – a farm-to- table concept.

Recognizing her concern and efforts for the improvement of a greater population, she was accorded the entrepreneur award by the Environmental Management Bureau; Operating Model Master Finalist by the IDC Digital transformation award; Gawad Pilipinoy by Mang Inasal; and Epic awardee by the Philippine Academy Specialist, all in 2019.

In 2021 she was awarded the 2021 Productivity Olympic Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-CAR.

Diga is a graduate of the Baguio City National High School and the University of the Cordilleras. – Julie G. Fianza
