Team Lakay’s rising fighter Carlos Alvarez wasted no time when he scored a first round anaconda choke submission win against his Thai opponent in the undercard of ONE Friday Fights in Bangkok, Thailand on Sept. 30.
It took Alvarez 57 seconds in the opening round to submit Title Chai to claim his third straight victory in ONE Championship.

His impressive first-round finish of his opponent could have been a candidate for a performance bonus usually given to fighters with exemplary win inside the circle or the ring.
Alvarez, in a post-fight post on social media, thanked the coaching staff of Team Lakay led by Chairman Mark Sangiao and sponsors such as Benguet Rep. Eric Yap, who is also their team manager.
It is the third straight victory for Alvarez, who finished Sadegh Ghasemi with a second-round submission win via Brabo choke in July.
In his ONE debut fight, he stopped Reza Abasi via technical knockout in April, also this year.
The 24-year-old fighter earlier expressed hope to be in the ONE Championship main roster that comes with a $100,000 contract.
“Of course, I want a contract to be part of the ONE Championship roster and I know I can perform well,” Alvarez said in an interview last July.
