Teachers and students in the municipalities of Flora and Pudtol in Apayao will have more classrooms to use with the recent turnover of two new buildings to the Department of Education.

Apayao Rep. Eleanor Bulut-Begtang together with Department of Public Works and Highways Apayao Second District Engineering Office District Engineer Ronalyn Ubina led the inauguration and turnover of the buildings to Apayao Schools Division Superintendent Irene Angway, Flora Mayor Rodolfo Juan, and Pudtol Mayor Hector Reuel Pascua.

The buildings – each worth P10 million – shall serve as office and work spaces for administrative personnel and school heads of the Pudtol and Flora schools districts.

District Supervisors Wilfreda Camiao of Pudtol and Shirley Adsay of Flora are grateful that their perennial problem of using classrooms as offices is significantly addressed with the new buildings.

“Now, our teachers have more classrooms for teaching. Our administrative personnel now have a space, a conducive place they call their own, thus, they can function better now,” they said.

The construction of the buildings was made possible through the efforts of Begtang who obtained funds from the national government.

Begtang expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the parents-teachers and community associations in the two municipalities for their full support and cooperation during the building construction.

She added the construction of the administrative buildings for school personnel was initiated by now Gov. Elias Bulut, Jr. when he was a congressman.

Begtang assured together with the provincial leaders, they will continue to work to bring more progress and development to the Apayao, with the support and unity of the people. – Redjie Melvic Cawis
