Baguio City will host two out of the eight races of the Spartan Race set in various parts of the country this year.
Spartan Philippines announced in its Facebook account the eight events that will start on Feb. 12 in Baguio will feature a half marathon (21 kilometers) and a 10-kilometer race. 
The world’s top obstacle racing event will then proceed to Anda, Bohol on March 19 for a 10-km. trail event and five-km. sprint and hurricane heat.
This will be followed by Mactan Seagrove, Cebu on April 2 with a super 10-km. and five-sprint and New Clark City Stadium on June 11 featuring stadion and hurricane heat for 12 hours.
Hurricane heat is mainly team-based event designed to take participants’ mental and physical capabilities to new limits while stadion is a fast and intense five-km. obstacle course.
The obstacle racing event will be followed by the Spartan’s LaRuta, which will once again kickstart in Baguio on July 30.
La Ruta is a grueling mountain bike event, which is the first mountain bike stage race in the world created by mountain bike hall of fame inductee Roman Urbina.
From Baguio, the event will proceed to Ilocos Sur on Aug. 27 followed by Boracay in October, with the date yet to be announced.
The venue for the final leg set Nov. 5 to 6 is still being decided upon.
