Baguio City Billiards is gearing up for the 2024 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (Caraa) Meet, tentatively scheduled on April 15 in Luna, Apayao.

The team will be represented by Franco Draniel Moreno of Saint Luis University and Sean Yvan Due of Pines City National High School for the 8 and 9-ball boys, and Beverly Mangitag of Mil-an National High School and Noelle Reese Songayab of AMA Institute of Computer Studies for the 8 and 9-ball girls.

Six districts, comprising both public and private schools from across the city, participated in the competition on Feb. 24 at the Puyat Sports Center in Baguio, with Physical Education Master Teacher Delfin Lasdacan serving as the tournament mana-ger assisted by eight officiating officials.

The winners of the citywide competition are Sean Yvan Due of district 6 who secured gold for the 9-ball boys, Franco Draniel Moreno of district 4 who earned silver, and Wilver Mateo of district 5 who took the bronze medal.

In the 9-ball girls category, Beverly Mangitag of district 3 won gold, Noelle Reese Songayab of district 8 won silver, and Althea Laguit of district 3 won bronze.

For the 8-ball boys, Franco Draniel Moreno of district 4 claimed gold, King Bryan Toribio of district 4 won silver, and Carlo Almazan of district 9 took bronze.

In the 8-ball girls category, Beverly Mangitag of district 3 emerged victorious with gold, Celine Kate Bitongof district 9 secured silver, and Althea Laguit of district 3 earned a bronze. – Maria Teresa Macasinag
