A member of the calisthenics group, Bardilleranz, is set to compete in the Mr. Philippines 2021 bodybuilding competition.
Ortis Tindaan, Jr. of Baguio and Benguet is preparing for the Mr. Philippines International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB)-Philippines national finals set Aug.13 to 14 in Antipolo City.
Tindaan will join the natural physique division against equally strong contenders all over the country.
Tindaan said his training is focused on his diet by tracking his calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates by weighing every food intake.
“I also do quality workouts focusing on proper execution and rest time during workouts,” Tindaan said, adding achieving eight to 10 hours of sleep is an important factor for good muscle recovery.
The 22-year-old former judo athlete of the University of the Cordilleras said the only setback in this monsoon season is that he cannot jog every morning as part of his training.
Tindaan hopes to have the chance to qualify for the IFBB’s international events, such as the World and Continental Championships.
Also a fitness trainer, Tindaan shares his bodybuilding journey on his Facebook and YouTube accounts through “Sportis Fitness” where he posts videos of his workouts.
“While I am preparing, I am able to inspire and motivate others through my workout videos and question and answer videos because many want to know how I conduct my training,” he said.
He said he builds his muscles naturally with strict training, diet, and supplements.
Being a part of the Bardilleranz has also greatly helped shape his physique through the calisthenics workout of the group, which was a finalist in the Pilipinas Got Talent in 2018.
