The Bases Conversion and Development Authority will again conduct expanded testing for the presence of the Covid-19 on 3,000 residents from Oct. 26 to 28.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said 1,900 PCR test kits have been allotted for Baguio while 1,100 is allotted for Benguet.

Benguet’s capital town La Trinidad will have 400. The municipalities of Tuba and Itogon will have 200 each, while Tublay, Sablan, and Kapangan will have 100 each.

Magalong said the original plan was for the city to have all 3,000 but some were allotted for Benguet, La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba, Tublay, and Kapangan, upon the request of the mayors.

The expanded testing schedule in Baguio City is the third conducted by the BCDA. The first was on Aug. 28 where 1,000 test kits were allotted, the second was on Sept. 17 to 19 for 3,000 residents of BLISTT.

As of Oct. 21, Baguio City has tested 59,392 or 16.05 percent testing rate based on a 370,000 population. – PNA
