For hurdling two of the country’s premiere institutions, the graduates of Philippine Military Academy and the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 2023 were honored by the province of Benguet.

Benguet officials led by Gov. Melchor Diclas gave the resolutions of commendations to PMA Mandirigmang May Dangal Simbolo ng Galing at Pagbangon (Madasigon) graduates from the province namely Ensign John Nicholas Caoli Bustillo, Second Lts. Karl Killi Tauli, and Johnirick Laoyan Awakan all from La Trinidad; Ensign Glen Kimbongan Laoyan from Atok, and Ensign Warren Marcos Lagangilang from Itogon.

Laoyan was also crowned Mr. Benguet during the province’s founding anniversary and Adivay Festival in 2018.

The iBenguet graduates were among the 50 Cordilleran graduates of the 310 men and women of the Madasigon class who graduated last May 21 at Fort General Gregorio Del Pilar.    

“The accomplishments of the graduates are undoubtedly a source of pride for the people of Benguet, embodying the core values of the province such as hard work, resilience, excellence, and unwavering dedication,” the resolution read.

Also recognized are the members of the PNPA Maaasahang Tagapagsilbi ng Inang Bayan na may Dangal at Katapatan na ang Layunin ay Kapayapaan (Masidtalak) class namely Javier Asiong from Tublay, Prinzel Galate Donguis from Mankayan, Jounard Munar Alapang from Sablan, Calvin Bacuso Mondero from La Trinidad, Revy Dean Deis Basalan from Buguias, and Norman Asing Luis from Kapangan. The class members have a rank of second lieutenant.

The PNPA Masidtalak graduation was held at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite last March 10.

“Their exemplary deeds of achievement brought pride and honor to the province of Benguet and mirrors the discipline, dedication, and hard work and self-sacrifices they made in the pursuit of attaining their goal thereby serving as an inspiration and pillar for the next generation,” the resolution stated.

Diclas lauded the proud graduates and urged them to continue their exemplary deeds in their respective branches of military and police service. – Ofelia C. Empian
