LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Benguet Provincial Police Office with its units and personnel were recognized for their achievements that promote and strengthen police community relations in the region.

 The Police Regional Office-Cordillera recognized the Benguet PPO for being the Outstanding Police Provincial Office in Police Community Relations (PCR) for 2022.

The Benguet 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company was also adjudged as the Outstanding Provincial Mobile Force Company in PCR and the Buguias Municipal Police Station as the Outstanding Municipal Police Station in PCR.

The awards were received by Benguet PPO OIC Col. Damian Olsim; 2nd PMFC Force Commander, Lt/Col. Benson Macli-ing; and Buguias MPS Chief, Maj. Jeremiah Benito, respectively, during the flag raising ceremony at the Capitol recently.

Some personnel were also recognized for their invaluable support in the implementation of noteworthy Police Community Affairs and Development (PCAD) programs, projects, and activities.

Among them are PCAD Unit Chief, Lt/Col. Dominga Terrado as the Outstanding PCAD Senior Police Commissioned Officer; PEMS Enrique Camuyot as Outstanding PCAD Senior Police Non-commissioned Officer; and  Lizafel Andaya as the Outstanding PCAD Non-Uniformed Personnel for 2022.

 The Benguet PPO said they achieved the recognitions through strong collaboration with the Provincial Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development chaired by Gov. Melchor Diclas.

Diclas expressed appreciation to the PNP personnel for their continued invaluable contribution to the well-being of the communities through their active social activities. He lauded the implementation of the “Pabahay Handog” program where the Benguet PPO was able to build 16 houses amounting to P3,764,310 that benefited 53 indigent families in the different municipalities in the province. – Redjie Melvic Cawis
