MOST FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION COUNCIL — Bontoc, Mountain Province Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr. and Municipal Health Officer Diga Kay Gomez handed over a cash prize of P4,500 and a certificate of recognition to Barangay Tocucan for securing the third place in the Search for the Most Functional Barangay Nutrition Council through the MELLPI-Pro Tool Evaluation. — Jovi Lopez

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The local government unit recognized the winners of the Search for the Most Functional Barangay Nutrition Council.

Barangay Samoki secured the top position with a score of 61.58 percent, earning them a certificate of recognition and a cash prize of P6,000.

Bontoc Ili’s Barangay Nutrition Council came in second with a score of 61.39 percent, earning them a certificate of recognition and a P5,000 cash prize.

Tocucan landed third with a rating of 60.21 percent, garnering a certificate of recognition and P4,500 prize.

Caluttit took the fourth spot with a rating of 58.74 percent, also receiving a certificate of recognition and a P3,000 prize.

The barangays were assessed using the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (Mellpi) pro tool evaluation.

Mellpi monitors and evaluates the performance of local government units and local nutrition focal points in promoting nutrition security vis-à-vis nutrition outcomes.

Their awards were handed by Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Municipal Health Officer Diga Kay Gomez, and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Venous Faith Cofulan last Oct. 2 during the flag raising at the Municipal Capitol grounds. – Alpine K. Malwagay and Nicole Shane Fidchao
