BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office provided relief assistance to the victims of a fire in Barangay Mainit.
MDRRMO head Johanna Padaen said the family of May Ann Pusot whose house was engulfed by fire on April 10 was given a sack of rice, assorted canned goods, pillows, bed sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and hygiene kits.
On April 11, the MDRRMO received a report from barangay secretary Eliza Lumachay about a structural fire injuring one victim who sustained minor burns on his forehead while saving his son.
Based on the investigation of the Bontoc Fire Station, the fire was caused by a spark at the fuse box due to use of a jumper. – Christy Mae F. Che-es
