The Buguias Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (LDRRMO) conducted an emergency responders training on basic life support to 62 members of the Buguias School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (SDRRMC), and other government workers on Dec. 16 to 20 at Bangao National High School.

The activity aimed to capacitate the participants on health service delivery during emergencies and disasters, and preventable morbidities, mortalities, and other health effects secondary to emergencies and disasters.

The participants were taught emergency care, introduction to basic life support to people who sustained splints, burns, wounds, carries, and different approaches to mass casualty incidents.

A hands-on demonstration on basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use of automated external defibrillator, managing respiratory arrest, and rescue breathing and foreign body airway obstruction, were also taught.
