Camp John Hay Golf Club (CJHGC) has emerged the winningest team from Northern Luzon, winning four championship titles in the seniors and regular divisions of the just concluded 73rd Januarius Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament in Baguio City on Nov. 22 to Dec. 10.

After capturing two titles in the seniors division, CJHGC also clinched two titles in the second phase of the longest and biggest amateur golf tournament in the Asia Pacific region.

73RD FIL-AM CHAMPIONS — The Camp John Hay Golf Club Team 2 composed of Arnel Peil, Kyruz Pasiwen, Mar Bustos, Arthur Allan Bayot, Ricky Dimarucot, and Leonard Corpuz combined for 356 total points to win the Am-C in the regular division of the 73rd Januarius Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament in Baguio City on Dec. 2 to 10. The CJHGC Team 1 composed of rising jungolfers Ranz Louie Balay-odao and Melchor Carlos Rabanes and seasoned golfers George Punasen, Bayani Tecson, Ramon Luis Garcia, and John Gerald Marasigan had 403 total points to win the Fil-B division.

CJHGC Team 1 was on second place after round two over Baguio Country Club Team 1 until both teams were tied at the top spot after round three at CJH.

Punasen and Balay-odao led CJHGC Team 1 in the final round at their home course with help of Garcia and Tecson to eventually win the title.

BCC Team 1 composed of Jeff Razon, Ryan Edmar Samonte, Euls Austin, Isonn Angheng, Pol Mayos, and Jose Luis Razon placed third with 386 points with Summit Point Team 1 placing second with 387 points.

CJHGC Team 2 composed of ArnelPeil, Kyruz Pasiwen, Mar Bustos, Arthur Allan Bayot, Ricky Dimarucot, and Leonard Corpuz combined for 356 total points to win the Am-C also in the regular division after it tied with BCC Team 2 in the third round.

Peil has been the consistent top scorer of the team from day one to three before Pasiwen took command for the team in the final round.

BCC Team 2 composed of Bong Mandapat, Earle Terence Farrell, Christian Baustita, Lorenzo Ding, Eddy Fianza, and Jose Paolo Saycon placed second with 351 points.

Earlier, CJHFC teams 1 and 2 won the Fil-A and Am-A titles in the seniors division.

The other local team that was a podium finisher in the regular division was Pugo Adventure composed of Cesar Pasiwen, Jr.; Jimmy Martin; Theodore Martin; Ramon Alimba; and Dexter Midon, placing first runner-up in the Fil-E with 279 points.

It was a come from behind win for Pugo Adventure that was on fifth place after round three.
