LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The regional office of the Department of Education has downloaded P30 million to the eight schools division offices as additional incentive of teachers.
DepEd-CAR Finance Division chief Sebastian Tayaban said all 17,291 teachers will receive P1,500 additional incentive. He said P1,000 is an incentive released by the DepEd central office in celebration of World Teachers’ Day and the P500 is for the teacher’s medical examination allowance.
Aside from the incentive, the teachers are also entitled to P300 per day allowance for attending webinars.
In May, teachers received their mid-year bonus and P6,000 uniform allowance.
Their chalk allowance was released in June to allow teachers to have funds for miscellaneous expenses considering that they will not need a chalk to teach due to the new mode of teaching.
Tayaban said the DepEd central office is still studying the possibility of giving communication allowance to the teachers considering the increased use of cellular phones and Internet in the performance of their jobs. – PNA
