The Perfecto-Carantes St. development project has resumed under a new contractor months after the project was halted due to the previous contractor’s default.
The City Engineering Office announced the development through an advisory on the closure of the street starting Aug. 30, to give way to the resumption of the project envisioned to develop Carantes St. and a portion of Perfecto St. as streetscape or shared street.
The CEO said the new contractor was awarded the project after winning the rebidding process undertaken to continue the project which was halted on Dec. 13, 2022.
The project contract was terminated after the contractor failed to deliver the desired output and accomplish the project based on the approved program of work.
