One of the top three winners of the 70 percent chocolate bar making competition during the 1st Cordillera Cacao Festival was Dolores Ortega of Conner, Apayao who showed her skill in creating the chocolate from their very own cacao grown in the 20-hectare family lot, alongside their fruit trees. The Ortega’s cocoa tablea was established in 1994 through her father who started the business, which she and her family kept going because of its profitability. — Ofelia Empian
