The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) activated its response clusters from Oct. 24 to Nov. 5 for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) and the observance of All Souls and All Saints Days.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong, CDRRMC chair, issued Memorandum 13, s. 2023 for the activation of the CDRRMC members, response clusters, barangay DRRM committees, and all other agencies concerned for the preparedness and response for the said major events.

The CDRRM office and Smart City Command Center (SC3) will be on red alert status from Oct. 29 to 30, during election day including pre- and post-election day monitoring, and during Undas from Nov. 1 to 3.

Alert status is lowered to blue during the campaign period from Oct. 24 to 28 and during the long weekend from Nov. 3 to 5.

Alert activation of the CDRRMC and the SC3 will provide timely, accurate, and appropriate coordination with all warning and frontline service agencies, the mayor said.

The City Health Office is also directed to activate all Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams and ensure availability and accessibility of all district health centers.

The memorandum also mandates the City Engineering Office Traffic and Transport Management Division to provide traffic management and towing services; the Baguio City Police Office to ensure peace, order, safety and security of the general public; and the Bureau of Fire Protection to ensure delivery of emergency response for fire incidents, medical and rescue, among other directives. – Jessa Mardy P.
