In Benguet, the more than 80 grades 1 to 7 learners of Kimpit Elementary School in Amlimay, Buguias are hopeful that the completion of the first floor of an extension building that is currently under construction courtesy of the parents-teachers association will be completed.

This, as all the more than 80 pupils are alternately using the existing school building with curtains as divider.

The Apayao SDO is embarking on the global satellite-based Internet service Starlink, now available in the country.

Starlink is a satellite Internet service developed by SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer founded by Elon Musk.

The Mountain Province SDO, on the other hand, has identified the need for tablets for use by students of the Special Education (SPED) students in Bontoc while the Abra SDO has identified the purchase of laptops as a priority for their learners.

The other SDOs, meanwhile, have identified the “Project Handog kay Juana” as their priority, as it provides young female students with hygienic and opulent restrooms, especially during their monthly period.

Earlier, DepEd-CAR announced it envisions the construction of model school restroom facilities with ample room for female students to rest and recover from menstrual pain. Under the project, there will be two rooms for teenage girls and one for LGBTQIA+ that can accommodate two to three students.

Items and projects to be donated or funded by CGFI will become DepEd property and will be covered by deed of donation and memorandums of agreement.

To recall, CGFI has coordinated with DepEd-CAR to identify the projects needing funding possibly from private partners in a bid to improve the quality of education and promote the welfare of the students, especially in depressed areas.

CGFI has envisioned reaching out to people in need while its members play the sport they love the most.

CGFI also assured its sponsors and private partners the financial statement of the foundation will be made available once the due diligence audit is completed by a private auditing firm. – Harley F. Palangchao
