Mayor Benjamin Magalong signed city council Resolution 214, s. 2022, commending Baguio city-based athletes for bringing home pride, glory and honor by emerging victorious in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam from May 12 to 23.
These are gold medalists Jean Claude Saclag, Kickboxing (men’s 63.5-kg.low kick); Gina Iniong-Araos, kickboxing (women’s-60 kg.low kick); Islay Erika Bomogao (with RichienYosorez), Muay Thai (Wai Kru Mai Muay all female); Eumir Felix Marcial, boxing (men’s 75-kg); while Steph Sabalo (with Michael Angelo Marquez) garnered gold in dancesport (single Latin cha cha cha) and two silver medals in dancesport jive and samba-chachacha-pasodoble-rumba-jive.
Silver medalists are Claudine Veloso, kickboxing (women’s 52-kg.low kick); Zephania Ngaya, kickboxing (women’s 65-kg.low kick); Renalyn Dacquel, kickboxing (women’s 48-kg.full contact); Helen Aclopen, kurash (women’s 48-kg.); CharmeaQuelino, kurash (women’s 52-kg.); Minalyn Foy-os, wrestling (women’s 57-kg.freestyle); Irish Magno, boxing (women’s 51-kg.); Jeordan Dominguez and Justine Kobe Macario, taekwondo (mixed freestyle team poomsae); while Jones Llabres Inso won silver in wushu (taolu-taijiquan) and a bronze medal in wushu (taolu).
Bronze medalists are Ariel Lee Lampacan, Muay Thai (men’s combat 54-kg.); JenelynOlsim, Vovinam (women’s 55-kg.); Ngaya, vovinam (women’s 60-kg.); Divine Wally, wushu (women’s sanda 48-kg.); Gideon Fred Padua, wushu (men’s sanda 60-kg); Estie Gay Liwanen, kurash (women’s 57-kg.); NesthyPetecio, boxing (women’s 57 to 60-kg.); Josie Gabuco, boxing (women’s 45 to 48-kg.); Honorio Banario, kickboxing (men’s 70-kg.low kick); and Emmanuel Cantores, kickboxing (men’s 60-kg.low kick).
The athletes are entitled to cash incentives.
