The City Health Services Office (CHSO) revived the vaccination in the park and drive through vaccination efforts to uptick booster dose takers as Covid-19 cases increased in Baguio in the past weeks.

Aside from the usual schedule of vaccination in district health centers and at SM L2 Terraces area, the CHSO opened a site at Malcolm Square to serve the public daily from 8 a.m. to noon.

The city likewise revived the drive through vaccination system at the Baguio Convention Center every Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Interested individuals to have their primary vaccines against Covid-19 or booster doses must bring their QR code or vaccination cards/certificates and one valid ID.

Per guidelines from the Department of Health, first and second dose Covid-19 vaccines will be administered to kids five years old and above.

The administration of the first booster dose is still limited to kids 12 years old and above while the second booster dose will be administered to immunocompromised individuals aged 18 and above, health workers, and senior citizens.

Data from the CHSO showed as of Aug. 15, there are 33,345 senior citizens who had their first dose, which is 123.67 percent of the 26,963 target population, and 32,635 individuals with second dose or 121.04 percent of the target population. 

Of the target population, 21,731 or 80.60 percent had their first booster dose and 6,367 or 23.61 percent had their second booster dose.

For the 18 to 59 years old group, 263,013 individuals were vaccinated with first dose equivalent to 146.10 percent of the target population of 180,024; at least 251,349 had their second dose or 139.62 percent; 117,116 or 65.06 percent had their first booster dose and 7,115 or 3.95 percent had their second booster dose.

As to 12 to 17 age group, 37,456 individuals had their first dose equivalent to 132.98 percent of the target population of 28,167 while 36,248 had their second dose or 128.69 percent; and 4,838 or 17.18 percent availed their first booster dose.

For the five to 11 age group, 19,949 or 60.69 percent availed their first dose and 17,534 or 53.35 percent availed their second dose out of the target population of 32,869. The city was able to vaccinate 268,022 individuals aged five years old and above of the target population; 353,763 or 131.99 percent with at least one dose; 337,766 or 126.02 percent are fully vaccinated; and 14,715 or 53.62 percent availed of the first booster dose. – Jessa Samidan
