The deadline of submission of requirements for the local government unit-sponsored Baguio College Education Financial Assistance Grant (BCEFAG) has been moved to Nov. 11, instead of Oct. 30, to give enough time for student-applicants to comply with the requirements.

Applications are received at the City Social Welfare and Development Office, Upper Session Road; Marlene de Castro at the City Mayor’s Office, City Hall; and office of Councilor Vladimir Cayabas.

Applicants must submit a brief application letter to Mayor Benjamin Magalong citing the intention to avail of the grant, filled up application form with the latest 1.5 x 1.5 or 2 x 2 ID picture (at the upper right most side of the form), enrolment certificate (with the school’s official dry seal), and assessment of school fees (with official dry seal).

Applicants must also submit a certificate of good moral character from the latest school attended, certificate of barangay residence for a minimum of two years, income tax return of parents or certificate of tax exemption to be secured at the Bureau of Internal Revenue, voter’s ID or certificate of voter’s registration, or parent/s’ voter’s registration if minor, barangay endorsement, and birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Those enrolled or intending to enroll in the undergraduate level, non-degree or technical vocational schools must submit a certified true copy of grades for the latest semester attended (with the school’s official dry seal).

High school graduates must submit a certified true copy of Form 138 or high school report card and Alternative Learning System students must submit certified true copies of their ALS certificate and the passing result of examination (with school’s official dry seal).

Baguio residents enrolled in schools outside the city are still considered for the assistance.

The documents should be submitted in two copies in a long folder.

Screening starts as soon as the complete documents are received. – Julie G. Fianza with reports from CSWDO
