COLDER, HIGHER — Considered as a sacred ground of Benguet ancestors, Mount Pulag, the third highest peak in the country at 2,928 meters above sea level, is one of top mountain destinations due to its distinct landscape and cooler temperature. In 2022, former President Rodrigo Duterte signed Republic Act 11685 declaring Mount Pulag a protected area, which mandated the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to designate areas within the forest reserve protected for the purpose of providing the site extra layer of protection. — Harley Palangchao
