The Benguet Police Provincial Police Office (BPPO) arrested one of the country’s top most wanted persons (TMWPs) and four others during their intensified manhunt operations.
The BPPO collared on Jan. 19 Hilario Sannadan Balwog, 51, and a farmer from Gaang, Tanudan, Kalinga and categorized as TMWP at the national level with a monetary reward of P300,000 based on Department of the Interior and Local Government Memorandum Circular 2004-11.
Balwog was arrested at Long Long, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet for murder.
BPPO Director, Col. Elmer Ragay, said the police also arrested four other TMWPs in separate operations.
The two arrested TMWPs at the provincial level were Fritx Bitol Nazul, 23, and a resident of Lamtang, Puguis, La Trinidad and Arjay Olita Daguio, 28, and a native of Ili, Conner, Apayao.
Nazul is wanted for rape with no bail recommended while Daguio was arrested for violating section 10 of RA 7610 or the Anti Child Abuse Law with a recommended bail of P200,000.
Arrested TMWP at the municipal level was Arnold Jay Esteban Arocena, 33 years old, single, laborer, native and a resident of General Natividad, Nueva Ecija. He was arrested for two counts of acts of lasciviousness
The police also arrested Ryan Incio Mangalindan, 39 years old, and a native of Nancamaliran West, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan and residing at Lamagan, Abatan, Buguias for violation of RA 9262 or the Anti Violence Against Women and their Children.
Ragay lauded the operating troops and said that the arrest of wanted persons should serve as a warning that fugitives have no place in the province.
He added the BPPO will continue the campaign against wanted persons to put law offenders in jail. – Jane B. Cadalig
