Three members of a notorious robbery group based in Angeles City, Pampangawho robbed a house in Tuba, Benguet were captured in separate operations recently.
On the evening of Oct. 9, one of the suspects Lady Bundalian Ronquillo, 28 years old, a resident of Barangay Cutcut, Angeles City was apprehended inside a vehicle parked in a garage at San Vicente St., BrgyTabun, Angeles City.
The next day, her companion, Brian Gomez Baesa, 34, of Barangay San Jose, Angeles City was likewise cornered after Ronquillo divulged his hiding place.
That afternoon, the third suspect, Roland Mendoza Guevarra, 52, of Barangay Pandacaqui, Mexico, Pampanga, was also arrested after Baesa who told the police his whereabouts.
The three suspects are part of the Pineda Criminal Group, which is involved in a series of robbery, car theft, illegal drugs trafficking and other illegal activities operating in Angeles City and nearby municipalities.
Operatives composed of Tuba Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Branch of Benguet Provincial Police Office under Col. Elmer Ragay; Crime Investigation and Detection Group CFU Angeles under Leopoldo Cajipe Jr.; Regional Highway Patrol Unit 3; and Regional Intelligence Unit-3 made the arrests.
On Oct. 4, the suspects staged a robbery and hold-up inside the Cayat’s residence in Bayacsan, Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet where they took personal belongings and cash amounting to more than P100,000then fled the scene onboard a vehicle.
During investigation, the suspects were positively identified through closed-circuit television camera footages on the scene.
The trio is now under the custody of Tuba Municipal Police Station while appropriate charges are being readied against them. – Ofelia C. Empian
