For the associate membership 1, which covers teachers, coaches, trainers, parents, and enthusiasts, the fee is P1,500 inclusive of membership ID, congress or seminars, workshops, music playlist that is non-renewable, and handouts.
For associate membership 2, the fee is P2,000 with membership ID, congress/seminars, workshops, music playlist that is renewable quarterly, handouts, and a minimum discount to DSCI exclusive workshops and events.
DSCI President Charibelle Pingawan said dancesports may not be considered as one of the common sports in the region yet but it requires proper training and discipline.
Pingawan, who coaches the multi-awarded Benguet Dancesports team, said the interest of the locality towards dancesports is already growing with the continuous competitions and medals won by her team even during the pandemic.
The Benguet dancesports team has joined several national and international online competitions in 2020 to 2021, with their latest competition in the 1st Nusantra Online Dacesport tournament hosted by Indonesia last year, winning three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.
The DSCI was established in 2021 to develop diverse and elite dancesports athletes while promoting dancesport activities in the region.
Dancesports is ballroom dancing, which is done in a competitive level rather than for performance or social dancing.
The sport was included in the Southeast Asian Games starting 2005, and in the 2019 SEAG, the Philippines bagged 10 gold medals in dancesports.
