It’s all systems go for the 2020 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association Meet on March 22 to 27.
Department of Education-Cordillera Information Officer Georaloy Palao-ay said the resetting from the earlier announced March 24 to 28 schedule is to give way for the conduct of the highlight events of the Baguio Flower Festival 2020 on March 28 to 29.
The Caraa Meet opening program will be in the afternoon of March 22 while the closing program will be in the afternoon of the 27th.
“However, these dates may still change depending on the advisories or health bulletins coming from the Department of Health and DepEd Central Office relative to the 2019 novel coronavirus concern,” Palao-ay said.
With the theme, “Stronger and bolder, soaring high together”, the Caraa Meet will gather close to 7,000 athletes and coaches from all over the region in Baguio City.
The Caraa Meet will bring together the young athletes of the region namely the Abra Stallions, Apayao Eagles, Baguio City Lions, Benguet Stingers, Ifugao Builders, Kalinga Bulls, Mountain Province Brave Mountaineers, and Tabuk City Brewers.
Perennial winner Baguio ruled last year’s games with 205 gold, 110 silver, and 79 bronze medals followed by Apayao with a 69-76-79 medal haul then Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Tabuk City, and Kalinga.
