The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development is committed to provide Filipinos with quality services through a competent workforce.

DHSUD Sec. Eduardo del Rosario said the agency will continue to boost manpower capabilities and make sure it will adequately deliver on its mandate as the national housing agency.

The DSHUD concluded a four-day performance review and planning workshop.

Among the reviewed policies during the workshops are the human settlements and urban development coordination; environmental, land use, and urban planning development; housing and real estate development regulation; homeowners’ associations and community development; and general administration and support services.

Del Rosario said the DHSUD will craft measures on personnel development and service excellence so that the workforce can provide better service and deliver better performance.

“So the bottom line for all of us is to establish a standard on personnel competence and quality service,” del Rosario said.

During the workshop, the DHSUD’s priorities were streamlined and the 2023 program implementation proposals were crafted.

The output will set the operational direction of the department in the coming years, as anchored on the 2040 National Housing and Urban Development Sector Plan and other relevant national development frameworks.

“Just like any undertaking, everything starts with a plan. But in order to have a high degree of success, our plan must be meticulously well-planned,” he added. “What we need to do now is to light our torches and trailblaze our journey by assessing our strengths and weaknesses and identifying the most viable yet effective approaches to bring our plans into action.”

“Give it your best shot for the benefit of the Filipino people,” he exhorted agency employees. – PNA
