LUNA, Apayao – The Department of the Interior and Local Government will soon have its provincial office with the groundbreaking of its P7 million worth building here.
The two-story structure will be constructed on a 2,000-square meter lot with a floor area of 405-square meters at Barangay San Gregorio.
DILG Usec. for Local Government Marlo Iringan expressed his gratitude to Luna Mayor Josephine Bangsil for donating the lot to DILG-Apayao.
“The donation only demonstrated DILG-Apayao’s tireless efforts, quality services, and assistance provided to all of the local government units in the province,” he said.
He added the building’s construction will continue to inspire employees of DILG-Apayao, in carrying out their tasks and responsibilities.
“The public will be encouraged to participate in good governance and to sit with us to resolve their issues and concerns,” he said.
DILG-Cordillera Director Araceli San Jose said the agency will continue to provide technical assistance to LGUs, local chief executives, and other functionaries in decision-making as well as in developing and updating government policies that can lead to improved public sector performance and service delivery.
DILG-Apayao OIC Provincial Director Daisy Payang thanked those involved in the preparations as well as agencies and/or units that contributed to the groundbreaking.
The ceremony was also attended by the former DILG-Apayao director Marvin A. Basquez; League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Apayao president and Pudtol Mayor Hector Reuel D. Pascua; Department of Public Works and Highways District II; Engr. Ronalyn Ubiña, Parish Priest of St. Anthony Parish Church Rev. Froilan B. Pangda; and DILG city and provincial officials. – Nilo P.
