The Department of Social Welfare and Development Cordillera recognized its partners from all over the region who contributed to the agency’s response operations to address the effects of the Covid-19 crisis.

From Kalinga, recognized are the Cordillera Youth Brigade/Pag-asa Youth Association; Forward Support Medical Platoon, Service Support Battalion; 1405 Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (Reservist); and Kalinga Provincial Police Office.

The following from Mountain Province have also been recognized: 54th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Division (Bravo Company); Mountain Province Provincial Police Office; Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company; DPWH Mountain Province 1st District Engineering Office; 403 Community Defense Center, 14 RCDG Arescom; and Provincial Government of Mountain Province.

“We have faced a lot of challenges for the past six months. But we are still here continuously providing the needs of our communities that have been greatly affected by the pandemic. The DSWD could have not done this alone, thus we are paying our tribute to our partners. We will never have enough words to express our gratitude to each of our partners,” DSWD Regional Director Leo L. Quintilla said.

DSWD Sec. Joselito Rolando Bautista, who handed the awards, recognized the persistent observance of bayanihan in the Cordillera.

“Kayo ang nagpapatunay na walang sakuna o sakit ang maaaring pumigil sa atin upang magbahagi ng ating sarili para sa kapakanan ng iba,” Bautista said. – Nerizza Faye Villanueva-Trinidad
