The Department of Social Welfare and Development is working for the direct payout of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) second tranche subsidy and hopes to reach out to all qualified family beneficiaries in Baguio City and Benguet within the week.
DSWD-Cordillera Director Leo Quintilla said they have already posted an 84 percent accomplishment for the direct payout for the second tranche SAP target beneficiaries.
Most of those yet to be reached are from areas that are on lockdown for having Covid-19 cases.
For the waitlisted SAP beneficiaries, direct payout by DSWD-CAR posted a 97 percent accomplishment.
Based on DSWD-Cordillera data, the total target for the SAP second tranche is 98,490 family beneficiaries of which 69,311 receive their P5,500 cash subsidy through a financial service provider (FSP) while 29,196 receive their cash assistance through direct payout.
In Benguet, the SAP distribution in Atok, Bakun, Bokod, Kabayan, Kibungan and Sablan is through direct payout by DSWD-Cordillera.
For Baguio City and Itogon, Kapangan, Mankayan, La Trinidad, Tuba, and Tublay, distribution of cash assistance is a mix of direct payout and through the FSP.
Quintilla said 100 percent of the fund allocation through the FSP has been transferred to the contracted service providers and the beneficiaries are already being contacted and given instructions through the mobile phone numbers that they have registered.
Payout for several family beneficiaries in Baguio City, Mankayan, and Kapangan is through Paymaya and Star Pay for Buguias and Itogon beneficiaries.
Payout for beneficiaries in La Trinidad, Tuba, and Tublay is through GCash.
Quintilla said they are now working on how to incorporate the minimum health requirements and safety protocols to ensure the safety of their clients and the DSWD personnel and other local partners/stakeholders in the delivery of social welfare and development services to the people. – Carlito Dar
