As part of the Women’s Month celebration, the city government will conduct an Eco-Waste Management and Sustainability Fair on March 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Session Road with the theme, “Kababaihan para sa kalikasan”.

The one-day event is held in partnership with the Office of Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda and the Sangguniang Kabataan, City Environment Parks and Management Office (Cepmo), General Services Office, City Tourism and Special Events Office, Zero Waste Baguio, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Taraki, UP Silbi, Women Incubatees, Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina, recyclers, composting, Tingi Station, and buskers.   

Cepmo Deputy Head Marivic Empizo said the fair’s target participants are various women’s groups and organizations who will showcase their eco-friendly products and advocacies.

Activities include information and advocacy campaigns, household items and books exchange, e-waste collection, composting demonstration, chalk art competition, and Zumba, with the participation of buskers.

Councilor John Rey Mananeng’s group will host the chalk art competition with women for the environment theme.

Booths will also be erected at the venue displaying upcycled/recycled products and items, start-up projects, pre-packed food, and re-filling station.

The fair will commence with an opening program at the Post Office Park, highlighted by messages from Mayor Benjamin Magalong; Tabanda; and Zero Waste Baguio, Inc. – Gaby B. Keith
