Mixed martial arts fans around the world were unanimous in choosing the quick but exciting bout between Jeremy Pacatiw and Felipe Efrain as the “Fight of the Night” in the recent Brave Combat Federation 33 series in Saudi Arabia recently.
The bantamweight bout between Team Lakay’s Pacatiw and Efrain of Brazil ended quickly when the Igorot fighter floored his opponent with a vicious technical knockout in the very first round.
Brave fans were impressed when the 24-year-old Pacatiw bravely engaged Efrain in a blistering exchange of blows until Pacatiw caught his opponent with a solid right cross followed by a ground and pound.
Coming into the fight, the former title contender Efrain announced he will knock out Pacatiw to pave the way for a rematch with reigning Brave CF bantamweight world champion Stephen Loman.
Fight fans were expecting that Efrain will give all his best shots against Pacatiw, only to be frustrated by the fighter from Kapangan, Benguet to end the 2019 campaign of Team Lakay with much success.
Pacatiw said he is humbled that his match against Efrain was selected by fans for the “Fight of the Night” honor, saying he will do his best to win more for Filipino fans around the world this year.
Pacatiw is the only Filipino MMA fighter to have the most number of appearances in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion with 10 bouts.
He improved his MMA record to seven wins and four losses while Efrain dropped to 13 wins, six losses, and one no contest. – Harley F. Palangchao
