Team Rubicon Australia (TRA), a volunteer group based in Australia and with members from other countries, conducted a second course in Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) in La Trinidad, Benguet on Oct. 14 to 17.
The course, delivered using the training of trainers format, was held in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense-Cordillera, Benguet Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, the municipal government of La Trinidad, and Baguio City DRRMO.
More than 40 participants from local government units of La Trinidad and Baguio City and Bureau of Fire Protection Baguio, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Rescue 911 On-Call, and non-government organizations graduated as RDANA instructors.
This brought to more than 70 instructors trained during Operation Bayanihan, a joint capacity-building project of TRA, Benguet and Baguio LGUs, and OCD-CAR.
The Team Rubicon instructors will plan for next opportunities to contribute to Philippines’ disaster resilience. – Rick M. Reyes
