The Benguet State University’s main conference hall was renamed from Administration Conference Room to Rogelio Dulay Colting, Sr. Conference Hall.

This was formally declared during the unveiling ceremonies on Dec. 14.

BSU President Felipe Salaing Comila said the decision to rename the Administration Conference Hall was in honor and tribute to the late Dr. Rogelio D. Colting, Sr., BSU’s fourth president who passed on last Oct.  17.

Comila said the renaming of the hall was approved by the Administrative Council.

Colting is BSU’s fourth president and is the first Ibaloy Alumni (High School) to be appointed by the Board of Regents as president for two terms or eight years (2003 to 2011).

His advocacies include students’ first policy, academic excellence, and organic agriculture, among others, which were manifested in his 10-point agenda.

It was during his incumbency that BSU attained SUC Level IV under the Commission on Higher Education.

Dr. Lita Molitas Colting, the wife of the late Colting, Sr. and family members were present during the activity together with key officials of the university.

Colting thanked the administration for the honor given to her late husband. – Grace Bengwayan
