BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Bontoc local government through the Public Employment Service Office turned over financial assistance to the daughter of an Overseas Filipino Worker who perished.

Cathy Jeane Fangsilat, a beneficiary of the Educational Livelihood Assistance Program (ELAP), received a check worth P5,000.

ELAP scholarships are for dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers who were active OWWA members at the time of their deaths.

Fangsilat is the daughter of the late Michael Fangsilat from Barangay Mainit, Bontoc, who was an OFW in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Bontoc Mayor Franklin Odsey, Accountant Marcy Lynn Piliyen, and Family Welfare Officer Jovy Ann Mang-usan from OWWA-Cordillera, and Jenelyn Ngolab, Family Welfare Officer of Mountain Province turned over the check on May 11. – Christy Mae F. Che-es
