HONORING THE DEPARTED — Practiced for decades now, people of Sagada, Mountain Province, who have embraced Christianity,    observed the “undas” with the customary practice of lighting pine twigs beside the tombs of their departed loved ones in a public cemetery on Nov. 1. While tourists are not banned from observing the event, they ought to observe prudence and be considerate of the families who honor their departed. — John Gewan
