Mayor Benjamin Magalong has issued Executive Order 18, s. 2020, establishing a Human Rights Action Center and organizing a Human Rights Action Team (HRACT) in the city.
The order designated City Administrator Bonifacio dela Peña as HRACT chairperson and legal officer-designate Richard Dayag as co-chairperson.
The HRACT is mandated to develop and implement the human rights plan of the local government unit; propose to the sanggunian the integration of human rights programs, projects, and activities in the annual budget appropriation; recommend appropriate legislations to the sanggunian’s human rights committee; use available resources for human rights promotion activities in the city; and spearhead and coordinate the implementation of human rights programs, projects, and activities among other responsibilities. – Gaby Keith
