Business owners may start registering in their preferred financial service provider (FSP) as Baguio City implements Ordinance 71 s. 2022, which enjoins all business establishments and local public transportation in the city to adopt QR PH digital payments in line with the Paleng QR Program.
City Treasurer Alex Cabarrubias said while the implementing rules and regulations of the ordinance are underway, business owners can start registering for the digital payment system to avail of the incentive offered.
“Puwede na silang mag-register sa FSP. Your choice, kung anong gusto n’yo na financial provider basta digital payment, considered ‘yun sa incentive,” Cabarrubias said.
The ordinance states all business owners who will provide QR PH as an alternative mode of payment shall be granted a 2.5 percent discount, which shall be applied on their business taxes on the first year of adoption.
“‘Yung mga establishments na gumagamit, submit proof that you have this digital payment para po mabigyan kayo ng discount of your business tax. ‘Pag vinerify ng Licensing Office together with City Treasurer’s Office, mabigbigyan kayo ng discount,” Permits and Licensing Division head Allan Abayao said.
The ordinance covers all public market vendors, stores, and business establishments, including, but not limited to sari-sari stores, ambulant vendors and hawkers and all public transport groups.
Public market vendors, public transport groups, sari-sari store owners, other local merchants in the city have earlier been urged to make QR PH payments available to their customers in line with the Paleng QR PH program.
